Now (July 2008):
I just can't get over the difference. I can't. And every time I pass the spot on the road where I first saw him, I get a huge lump in my throat.
Everyone who's ever said, "Oh God, I'd NEVER have a pit bull!" or my personal favorite, "Oh God, I'd NEVER let my children around a pit bull!" should meet Ralphie. He didn't get the media's memo that pit bulls are supposed to be viscous and eat children. He's the sweetest, most gentle, laid back dog I've EVER been around - and we all know I've been around a LOT of dogs!

Love, love, LOVE that you think Pits are the sweetest dogs. I totally agree. Every Pit I've known have been sweeter than any other dog. Your Pit's a cutie too! Glad to read that you rescued him. I totally understand the lump in your throat when you pass by where you got him. My little dog jumped out my window at a very busy intersection one day (totally freaked me out!) and ran across the street - TWICE - and then looked as if she was hit! My heart races every time I drive through.
